The stretch of coast from Málaga to Sotogrande is so full of courses that it’s nicknamed the “Costa del Golf”. Here’s how groups plan a trip there, and a matching kit for it.
Where you'll play
- Valderrama in Sotogrande, host of the 1997 Ryder Cup.
- Real Club de Golf Sotogrande and La Reserva, close by.
- Finca Cortesin, between Estepona and Sotogrande.
- Real Club de Golf Las Brisas, Los Naranjos and La Quinta in Marbella’s “Golf Valley”.
When to go
Autumn to spring is the classic golf season: mild, sunny and green. Summer is hot, so groups that go then tend to tee off early.
Getting there
Fly into Málaga. Marbella is under an hour’s drive, and Sotogrande a little further west.
Your Costa del Sol kit
Navy with white stitching suits the Costa del Sol’s smarter clubs. Put Marbella, Sotogrande or your villa on the crest, and the coordinates go on the back of the cap and the left sleeve.
Questions groups ask
Can we use the same kit for a trip that covers several courses?
Yes. Put your base or simply “Costa del Sol” on the crest; the trip name and year go underneath. One crest for the whole trip looks best in photos.
How far ahead should we order?
Order at least three weeks before you travel. Everything is embroidered to order, which takes a few working days, and delivery takes a few more. If your trip is sooner, get in touch first.
Can everyone pay for their own kit?
Yes. Design the kit once, then choose “Invite the group instead”. You get one link for the group chat; everyone picks their own size, men’s or women’s fit, and pays for their own, with a group discount.
